Based on its commitment to promote the city of Valencia
and bring it closer to the largest number of people possible, VALENCIA
TOURISM & CONVENTION BUREAU has developed an accessible version of
its website www.turisvalencia.es with the aim of making access to the site easier
for those citizens with disabilities as well as those with limited technical
means available to them.
The accessible version of the website has been developed according to the guidelines
laid down by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), with the
objective of facilitating access to information offered to all citizens.
Among the measures adopted are:
Images: with self-explanatory text.
Style sheets: CSS Style Sheets have been used for all existing
web text.
Shortcut keys: allow for faster, easier and more direct access
to the different sections of the site.
H: Home (Start)
V: Come to Valencia
S: Savour and live Valencia
D: Discover Valencia
O: Miscellany
T: Valencia Tourism and Convention Bureau
1: Your e-mail (form)
2: Your name (form)
3: Message (form)
4: send (form)
Activation of the shortcut keys varies according to the navigator used. The most common are:
Internet Explorer (Windows): ALT + letter + ENTER
Internet Explorer (Macintosh): CONTROL + letter + ENTER
Mozilla (Windows, Linux): ALT + letter
Mozilla (Macintosh): CONTROL + letter
Mozilla Firefox (Windows, Linux): ALT +letter
Mozilla Firefox (Macintosh): CONTROL +letter
Nestcape (Windows): ALT +letter
Nestcape (Macintosh): CONTROL + letter
Opera 7.0 (Windows, Macintosh, Linux): CAPITALS + ESC+ letter
Safari 1.2 (Macintosh): CONTROL + ESC +letter

NOTE: Netscape 4, Camino, Galeon, Konqueror, Omniweb, Safari (versions inferior to 1.2), Opera Windows/Linux (versions inferior to 7.0) do not support the shortcut keys.
Design, navigation and interactivity: An attempt has been made
to ensure coherent navigation throughout the portal; the same structural scheme
is followed in all the pages: main section navigation menus are on the inferior
part of the screen. On selection of an option, the menu in question returns
to its original position at the same time as the title of the new page and the
sub-menu of the section appears. Selected options are marked in bold to favour
positioning.
Accessibility level: The website has been validated by use
of the HERA (FUNDACIÓN SIDAR) tool and checked by other appliances. The general
accessibility level is "double A" (Priority 2) fulfilling some of the "triple
A" norms (Priority 3).
