The Almudín was built on the site of a Muslim castle at the beginning of the 14th century as a warehouse for the storage and sale of wheat; the building was extended during the 15th and 16th centuries. It is a basic design with a central, open patio which was partially covered in the 17th century. The entrance area is decorated with murals depicting scenes related to the commercial activities that took place as well as paintings of the patron saints of the artisans that worked there.
