The new Regne Bridge links two main city arteries: the Avenida Antiguo Reino de Valencia and the Avenida de Francia. It is 220m which makes it the longest bridge in the city; it has four lanes in each direction, and is Valencia’s seventeenth bridge. Its most original features are the four gothic gargoyles which mark out the entrances; the four huge bronze statues are the ‘guardians’ of the bridge and were designed by Salvador Monleón, the engineer responsible for the project. This new city infrastructure is illuminated by art deco lamps complementing the urban environment.
